Manny Lehman, though known as the Latin From Manhattan, this current Los Angeles resident has taken the Circuit World by Storm. Although Manny has been at the turntables off-and-on for more than ten years, it’s only recently with the mega-success such events as the 1999 Palm Springs White Party and Montreal’s Black and Blue Recovery Party that Lehman has skyrocketed to DJ Stardom. He currently holds residencies at NYC’s TWILO, Miami’s CROBAR, and LA’s FACTORY. Manny’s sound is a high-octane blend of aggressive, soulful house infused with distinct Latin/Tribal beats, a direct product of his Puerto Rican upbringing in the barrios of New York City’s Bronx. Perhaps what is so impressive, however, is Manny’s incredible consistency as an always “on” DJ, never failing to bring the crowd to mesmerizing intense frenzy… and leaving them there…begging for more. His beats are relentless…music with balls…and always filled with surprises.
In addition to the above monthly residencies and countless club performances from coast to coast, this year Manny has played nearly every Circuit event, including Black & Blue Weekend, Pensacola’s Memorial Day, Detroit’s Geared For Life, DC’s Cherry 5 at Nation, The Recovery Party at Palm Springs’ White Party, Gay Pride at both Twilo and Factory, Fire Island’s Pines 2000, San Francisco’s Sundance, Whistler’s Gay Ski Week, Chicago’s Fireball, Miami’s Snowball and New Years, Halloween in New Orleans, and Philadelphia’s Blue Ball. Upcoming events include South Beach’s Winter Party Weekend, Gay Disney, Pensacola Memorial Day, Provincetown 4th of July, Toronto’s Pride Unity, New York Pride, Twilo, and guest spots in London and Ibiza, as well as a tour of Japan.
His two recent CDs on 4Play Records, ” Circuit Sessions 01″, and “04” have garnered huge accolades for perfectly capturing the essence one of Manny’s peak sets. His latest remix of Madonna’s next single, What It Feels Like For a Girl is sure to be a Circuit favorite this spring.
