A recent resident of New York City, David Knapp currently calls Atlanta his new home. After holding a residency at both Roxy and Limelight in New York City, David accepted an exclusive Saturday night residency at TWILO in the autumn of 1999, where he still plays monthly with Junior Vasquez. David’s most famous credits include Miami White Party at Vizcaya (9 years), Montreal’s Black &Blue Military Ball, The Saint Black Party, Amnesia’s Post New Year’s Party, Pensacola’s Memorial Day Weekend, Miami’s Winter Party Weekend, Chicago’s IML, San Francisco’s Hell Ball, Palm Springs White Party Weekend, and New Orleans Halloween.
When not at TWILO, David is busy nearly every weekend at regular gigs in Washington DC, Miami, Toronto, Denver, Dallas, New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston, Montreal, and Atlanta… to name a few. His international credits include Amsterdam, Mykonos, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Costa Rica. In the summer of 2000, David played a tour of Japan, which included a spot at Tokyo’s premier dance club, Womb. He was also the sole DJ performing for New York City’s Gay Pride Pier Dance, before a crowd of 10,000 – the first time ever that only one DJ has been chosen to play the entire Pier Dance.
David’s several CDs include The White Party – Anniversary Edition, Global Grooves Dignity, and The White Party 2000. All are currently available on the Centaur Entertainment label. His mega-successful CD, The John Blair Party, Vol.1 David Knapp (Logic) is still one of the highest-selling DJ compilations on the market.
Although David is mostly recognized for his multi-layered anthemic vocals, you’re always sure to get some one-of-a-kind,- the-spot productions that will blow away even the most sophisticated ear. Playing a musical program that always pleases everyone in his audience, David is often referred to as, ” The People’s DJ”. He was recently considered one of the six top and most influential DJs in America, by Gentlemen’s Quarterly Magazine, where he was featured in the July 2000 issue.
